Big Brother, Freespeech and the Anti-Intellectual trend

By NickLitten

youtube, bitchute, rant

I haven’t enjoyed a decent blog rant for some time so… nothing technical in this blog but lots of blowing off steam 🙂

There is a disturbing trend of anti-intellectual elitism in 2019 American culture: the flippant dismissal of science, the decline of arts and humanities.

Critical thinking is being replaced by entertainment, self-righteousness, ignorance, and deliberate gullibility.

Anti-Intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that ‘my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge'”

Isaac Asimov

Totalitarian governments manipulate and apply anti-intellectualism to repress political dissent.

Isn’t it strange how the American Government is dumbing down language, encouraging confirmation bias and building by division?

Civility has been deprecated in favor of rudeness and repetitive chanting of insults.

We are living in some kind of clown world:

  • American society is harshly divided across imaginary racial lines, irrational people yelling “that’s racist” while main stream media plays hip-hop Rap Songs openly spewing racist lyrics about their niggas and bitches and shooting up the poleeece
  • Men are identifying as women and then taking part in female athletic events and winning (what a shocker)
  • Medieval religions are surging in popularity while scientific theories are laughed at (obviously the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment is crazy but talking snakes, Jinn fire beings and invisible flying Angels are legit)
  • Politicians are given more screen time than teachers (and paid $millions more)
  • Disagreeing with any groups misogynist ideas, or condemning their oppression of people based on sexual preferences, makes you a nazi/racist/phobic (select your insult of choice)

Politics seems to be at the root of most of the ills in society today.

It turns out that IDIOCRACY was a Prophecy

How did POLITICS get the spotlight?

Let’s forget politics. I preferred the good old days when every knew that Politicians told fibs to get their goals. How about we ignore that and follow some nice guide lines:

  • we should be nice to each other
  • promote hard working enterprising people
  • shop local
  • help those in need in our community (just as we would like to be helped if we needed it)
  • stop blowing shit up in other countries
  • enforce law and order but with a focus on rehabilitation
  • keep our planet clean
  • keep religious views out of government
  • and not let the elite-class get too big for its boots.

I guess I’m pretty average, libertarian leaning with a large splash of classical liberalism:

Classical liberalism is a political ideology and a branch of liberalism which advocates civil liberties under the rule of law with an emphasis on economic freedom.

some bloke on wikiwhatsit

This whole Left wing, Right wing, American Republican (aka British Conservative), American Democrat (aka British Labour) leaves me bemused.

People take up jobs in Politics and always retire as multi-millionaires.

Food for thought?

It’s OK to ‘AGREE to DISAGREE’

I’m a strong advocate of freedom of speech, freedom of expression and the freedom to say things that I disagree with.

Opinions vary

Let’s grab a few drinks and discuss religion, politics and ‘insert-your-hot-topic’ here 🙂

In the words of Dalton, “Opinions Vary” I always try to remember that.

I thoroughly enjoy real world conversation with people that have different opinions to me. Especially on religion, the wide range of belief systems we have is fascinating.

It’s good to talk, to disagree, to learn, to debate and leave as friends.

Away from the glittering paparazzi, away from the restless mob, the black clad ninja wannabees acting like fascists while proclaiming they are anti-fascism. Away from fools dictating how to act based on your skin colour (while calling you a racist). Away from any crowd of people mindlessly following a chant leader spewing cliched rhetoric… away from these idiots… there is a quiet majority of people who are just going about their days. Questioning what they read.

I hope this growing trend of skepticism, rational thought and epistemological application spreads into the world of politics.

I like to imagine a world where some of the best thinkers, the most honest professionals, the best negotiators are leading the government. (I know, I know 🙂 )

It would be great if people asked themselves “Does this sound true? Could it be false” before simply believing a talking head on the telly, a man in a pulpit or a politician on a stump.

Pushing #FAKENEWS

I’m amazed to watch the openly biased news outlets like (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, BBC) all reporting on Mainstream Media’s use of FAKENEWS – as if they are not the part of the Mainstream Media!! News reports vary so differently from different media outlets it beggars belief.

We shouldn’t have to work so hard to be media literate and find honest sources of information

I try to find News from various online sources : The Economist and Times for British and European news, occasionally the BBC (but very mindful of its left leaning bias), the Associated Press, Reuters, Bloomberg News and others. I quite like Newsvoice for its social media verification options.

Having said that, I’ve virtually stopped watching mainstream media reporting on events. I’ve been using eye-witness videos on YouTube to do my own fact checking of events. But sadly, Youtube (google) has a very visible agenda in who they allow to share their story and who they block. #shamegoogle

Sadly, more and more often real world news videos are being taken down, blocked and removed if they do not follow the narrative (propaganda) that these big media companies (Google, Facebook, et al).

Confirmation Bias

Youtube is actively presenting its videos selectively – feeding its owners confirmation bias.

Confirmation bias is the mental phenomenon that confirms the validity of a person’s self-accepted beliefs and social media, YouTube and the cult of twitter sound bites feeds this bias enthusiastically.

some other bloke on the internet that is much more erudite than I

Is your Twitter feed is full of Politician’s sound bites and so-called celebrities ranting about political point scoring?

Silencing #FREESPEECH

The big media companies like Google & Facebook are shamelessly acting like Big Brother. Not like an elder sibling that helps you out in times of need, but increasingly like the Orwellian Big Brother dictating how to think, how to speak and drip feeding news/views on world events which are actively biased.

News Feeds Feed – They feed your own confirmation bias. They are designed that way.

Youtube wants you to be in a groove, to know where you sit politically, religiously and socially. With this information you can be accurately targeted with online ads that feed that confirmation bias.

Ads that align to your opinions generate more sales.

Google owns and controls YouTube so it’s no surprise that we have seen heavy de-platforming of people, and organizations, that do not toe the company line. If you dare to express a video opinion that is not aligned to YouTube’s social and political bias… down the chute you go.

Demonitized. Suspended. Silenced.

I just watched Joe Rogan ‘s podcast talking to Tulsi Gabbard – a Presidential candidate talking about Big Brother Tech illegally monitoring the people and how she is suing Google for disabling her adword advertising during the democratic debate. Big media corruption is astounding! I really like this lady, she is classy, intelligent, articulate and clearly patriotic. I didn’t think I would ever favor a politician from either of the two big fat corrupt parties but she comes across as something different. I’m going to watch her with interest ( and not in a lecherous way 😉 )

I’m seriously pissed off with Google/YouTube.

So annoyed, I’m moving my video content to other providers that promise not to enforce group-think, nor to stifle my rights to express my own opinions warts and all (but that is a whole new blog) #Rumble or #bitchute

But more on the Topic of kicking YouTube to the curb in another episode of Nicholas Waffle.

🙂
