When we want to delete an object - TURNOVER makes this very simple for us.
Essentially it allows us to either totally delete (throw it in the bin) or archive any object (photocopy it first, store this photocopy in a filing cabinet in the garden shed and then throw the object in the bin).
Here is another embarrassingly old video of me waffling about how to setup a DELETE FORM to archive objects:
NOTE 1:
This was recorded back in 2017 and a new TURNOVER version (V101) has be released since then. It looks the same, but may have some minor differences.
NOTE B:
A nice chap called Jason from Softlanding watched the original YouTube video and comment that "If I could make one small correction, I would say you do not want to check the object out. Just add it to the worklist and create your form. Checking it out, leaves a rouge checkout record. Notice at the end of the video, your object is still checked out?"
I responded saying that "I check the object out to make sure that nobody is working on it before I try to delete it."
The problem was that the old V100 version will delete the object and then leave a checkout behind - against a now deleted object. note to self - I must really check to see if this has been fixed in the new V101 version!
