My life online as a Digital Dad

Life online is not the same as living online.

There is a fine balance between living your life and spending time dealing with a big chunk of that life revolving around the interweb super highway social media computerized cloud of things. It’s a matter of balance. I’m a Dad foremost (ever father will know what means) and a confirmed technology-a-holic secondly. Perhaps I’m a Digital Dad. I definitely spend too much time tinkering with this website. But I (definitely) find myself using parenthesis too much :0

And smileys. 🙂

I’m English by birth and after spending the first half of my life in the green and pleasant lands of Southern England, I got a little disgruntled with the damp atmosphere, increasing cider prices and the prevalence of chavs I decided it’s time to up and migrate somewhere warmer, with a new beer selection and not a chav in sight.

Choosing somewhere warmer was tricky.

I’m lucky to have worked all over Europe, tapping at keyboards so the choice of second life location was tough. South of France, Spain and even the isle of Jersey were serious considerations. However, with the Grinch (my soon to be ex-wife) hailing from the land of Miller-Lite and Hamburgers… the choice slowly narrowed to somewhere on the New Worlds East Coast. Emigration was a exhilarating and terrifying experience all rolled into one. Coming at a time of personal drama, family feuds and financial stress. Ebaying the whole house and packing up the family and hopping on a plane was a “Wow” experience… but that was nothing compared to the next few years traveling around the USA and rebooting my professional life Stateside. I could write a book, but I cant be arsed so decided to blog in bytes and nibbles instead…

But wait.. I’m starting to get serious and that is definitely off topic (as if their was a topic to start with)… damn it… there goes those (brackets) again…
