My Wonderful Spring Spaniel Bailey went to doggie heaven three months ago today
I’m still devastated over the death of Bailey and have been through a roller-coaster of emotions trying to decide whether to get another dog or not. Any dog owners out there will know exactly what I’m talking about.
In my case, in the space of a few weeks, I have lost both my dogs. Gray, my lovely female English Springer Spaniel died of old age at the ripe old age of 12. But just one week later, my 4 year old Springer, Bailey, died in a horrible accident at my ex-wife’s house. Apparently, she went swimming out into a lake (chasing ducks no doubt) and got a paw caught in her collar… got in trouble… ultimately drowning. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible.
Dying before her time has left me shaken and much more upset that I would have expected.
I cant imagine another dog right now.
Or can I?
I’ve been through the whole “I can’t replace these dogs and I can’t suffer this mourning again. No more dogs for me!” But who can resist a puppy?
After soul searching and wistfully looking through the dog rescue shelters… I found a brand new wingman – Bailey Version 2.0 has joined the family.
Bailey 1 has morphed from a bouncy 6 year old female Springer to a rambunctious 6 week old Male Springer.
First outside walk with this ball of furry cuteness was a blast:
Let the training begin 🙂
