Bailey Litten – English Springer Spaniel

Bailey Version 2.0 – He’s my wing man and constant companion. He never nags, never complains and is always thrilled to see me whether I have left him alone for a minute or for a day. To test if your dog loves you more than your wife – trying locking your pet and your wife in travel cage, in the hold of a plane, for 6 hours. See which one is more pleased to see you when you land. 😉

Bailey has flown around the USA with me and should have his own air-miles account.

He was my car companion on our cross country drive from Charleston (SC) to Las Vegas, then a year later up to San Francisco and finally back to Charleston, SC.

Six months later we cruised over to Texas for a few months.

In early 2014 we moved and settled in Sunny Southern California.

Springers are active dogs and I should have a gold card membership at various doggie day care facilities, where Bailey spends his days during many business hours if I’m at work for long periods. He’s friendly and loves to chase balls, squirrels and just about anything that scampers, runs or slithers.

He’s a good swimmer (aren’t all springers?) but I sometimes worry that he’s going to start chasing a shark when he’s paddling around in the sea. He doesn’t like dog treats but he loves ice cream. He just turned six years old at Halloween, thats 42 in human terms, but he still thinks and acts like he’s a puppy.

He’s the man! *cough* erm… ‘the dog!’

When he was a puppy he was adorable and cute

All Springers are attack dogs by nature 😉

but you have to train them out of their chewing phase

and a year later…. they get older and go into a digging and swimming phase (and their aint no way to stop that)

you should take your dog everywhere with you… but remember they don’t like going thru car washes

but they do like long road trips and playing with imaginary friends

Dogs make our human lives better. They make gloomy days brighter and good days even better. Even when I’m having a bad day (after a boiler leak and broken down car all in the same morning) a walk with the hound makes the world feel like a better place! 🙂

If you are thinking about getting a family pet — you seriously cannot do better than choosing an English Springer Spaniel. Fun, gentle, protective, great with kids, well mannered and friendly. They are an energetic breed and definitely need regular walkies and play time. Get a Springer and you will be set for a companion that will be glued to you for life.
